At a mere 66 acres, Gateway Arch National Park is the smallest National Park in the Service, and can easily be fully explored in half a day. Unlike other Parks that are difficult to get to and sometimes even harder to explore, Gateway Arch is an ideal stop by families making their way across the country on a road trip, and is even well worth it to slightly alter plans to include the visit to St. Louis for.

National Parks: Saguaro
Easy desert hikes, massive cacti, stunning views, and just the right amount of danger – the Western portion of Saguaro National Park is ideal for people short on time or families with young children.
National Parks: Sequoia
Now the very word Sequoia conjures up might within my mind. I picture mountains that actually feel small due the massive giants that live upon their slopes. All sorts of thoughts of regal kings and ancient warriors who will never give up ground and never let you forget whose realm you are in.
National Parks: Mammoth Cave
Mammoth Cave may not have glistening jewels and cascading stone waterfalls, nor stalactites and stalagmites, but it does beckon your heart to explore. As we stood outside of its entrance before the tour began, you found yourself wondering what would cause someone to journey into the Cave’s dark mouth – by the time you come back out, you know.
National Parks: Death Valley
The very name “Death Valley” conjures up all sorts of imagery in the mind. To those who haven’t been, you might think that it is some desert valley that is really hot – it is. You may know about the heat records that have been set there, or perhaps that it is the lowest altitude…
National Parks: Crater Lake
From the richest blue skies stretched from beyond the horizon in every direction across the northern Plains, to the vibrant turquoise blues that dominate the coral-filled seas of the Caribbean, to a mysteriously curious set of stormy blue eyes that say so much more than lips ever could – I’ve seen a lot of blues…
National Parks: Kings Canyon
Kings Canyon, with its neighbor Sequoias, make up one of the largest expanses of untouched wilderness in the lower 48 States. The roads into the parks are small and only give tiny but truly wondrous peeks into the unknown. Despite that, there is something great about just knowing that it’s out there – set aside to just be as it is.
National Parks: Dry Tortugas
It is those perfect days that you find your mind drifting back to over and over again. Sometimes they sneak up on you, like the day you met the girl whose smile and laugh can wipe away any bad mood – and other times, these perfect days are the result of tons of research, multiple…
National Parks: Theodore Roosevelt
Located in southwestern North Dakota, Theodore Roosevelt National Park isn’t on the way to anywhere – but is reason enough to make the trek here from other locales. It is almost as if the Park is an island of rocky badlands in the midst of an inland sea made of grass.
National Parks: Grand Teton
The thing about the Tetons is that they are just there. I know that’s such a nondescript statement to make if you haven’t encountered them in person. When I say that the Tetons are just there, I mean that they seemingly come out of nowhere and then swallow up the entire world. Everything else fades…
